I knew I didn’t want to medicate my son. I didn’t want to dull down his spirit or have him suffer from dangerous side effects. It was also clear that how Joey was reacting was being elevated by the high levels of stress we were under, because he wasn’t always this way. It really bothered me that none of these factors were taken into account while the doctor was determining that medication would be the only solution for my son’s situation.
I left the office on a mission to find the answers that would help my son feel more supported. I grew a curiosity in the role foods play in fueling the body, as well as, how food can cause reactions that affect the body’s most simple functions. As I researched, I gained a better understanding of nutrition. Eating better choices is not just about the way we look. The things we ingest greatly affect brain chemistry, hormones and moods along with our body functions. |
What Clients are Saying...
"I was going through a rough time in my life during college and suffering from horrible anxiety attacks when a good friend recommended Kimarie. From the moment I met her I felt completely comfortable and at ease. She was so warm and understanding so it was easy to open up to her. I had my first sessions 7 years ago and have not suffered another panic attack since. Kimarie's work has exceeded my expectations I would recommend her to anyone."

After much research and many trials, I learned that everyday foods we think are doing the body good can actually work against us. We can develop an intolerance, to everyday common foods, much like and allergy. After this discovery I made a few simple adjustments to my son’s diet and saw dramatic changes right away.
I remember Joey’s teacher calling me from school the next day, asking where my son was and who was this calm child that I sent as his replacement. A wonderful sense of relief flowed through my body. These simple changes were a big help in bringing Joey some physical relief. But I soon learned that it didn’t end there. Although making those nutritional adjustments gave immediate relief, it became apparent that we were only treating the tip of the iceberg. But, now that he was stabilized, we could go deeper and get to the next layer of the true source of my son’s pain. I continued to take in as much as I could through research, classes and workshops. What I was learning and applying made dramatic shifts with my family and my clients. The more I shared with others the more excited I became. My faith in a holistic approach grew immensely. When things stop functioning in our body the way they are supposed to, that is our body’s way of letting us know there is something out of alignment or not being properly supported. Any area which is not at ease (fully supported) for any length of time can result in dis-ease. |
